Practical take-aways from the section :

  • let them motivate themselves

  • beware of the pressure : leave them alone

    5/2s need to motivate themselves

    “But they have to motivate themselves. So you can have a 5/2 child and the 5/2 child is going to suffer even more at the hands of its parents than the 5/1. That 5/2 child is going to be under that pressure, the expectation pressure, and the parents are going to be saying “do this, do that” and that child is just going to resist.

    And of course it creates a great deal of frustration in the family environment because the family feels like this is a child that is going to be an under achiever. Now all 5th lines are under that pressure. Under the pressure that they don't under achieve. You know, they have some mythical mythological mother or father standing above them wagging their finger « you better!! ». So the 5/2 that needs to be self motivated, can be infuriating to that expectation. Not only that, but that is an unconscious that says “I'm a hermit. Leave me alone! And I'm very insecure when you project on me. Because I don't know if I can do the things you say I can do, even though I'm doing them because they don't know how I do them.””

    Beware of the pressure, leave 5/2 alone

    “So they have to be self-motivated, you gotta leave these kids alone. Don't pressure them. Leave them alone. You don't have to worry, they got a fifth line personality, they'll get it. They have this capacity to have a deep impact, they'll get it, they'll begin to understand their power in relationship to others, they'll get it. But if you put all that pressure on them when they're young, you distort all of that.”
